our history
Saturnino Alberto Cantalapiedra
Vineyard: The Golden Mile of Verdejo
The Saturnino vineyard is a 33-year-old gem, located on arid terrain made up of boulders. This vineyard is governed by a dry land system, without drip irrigation systems. Located on the famous Verdejo Golden Mile, in the privileged area of La Seca, this vineyard represents the very essence of the region's winemaking tradition.
The Production Process
The grapes from the Saturnino vineyard are carefully selected before harvesting, carrying out selective pruning to guarantee the optimal quality of the harvest. Once harvested, the grapes are processed in tanks for a minimum period of 5 months, thus ensuring the full expression of their character and flavor in each bottle of wine that bears the name Saturnino Cantalapiedra.
Family Project and Tradition
This vineyard is much more than a crop field; It is a family project rooted in the passion for wine. Each strain carries with it the history and legacy of generations dedicated to caring for and cultivating the Verdejo grape with care and dedication.
A Story of Passion for Wine
The beginnings
Saturnino, my grandfather and apothecary from La Seca, was a visionary. He always knew that the Verdejo grape would be the flagship of our land, with an ideal soil and climate for its cultivation. And he was not wrong.
The Cooperative
His passion and skill in chemistry were key to promoting the creation of the La Seca Cooperative Winery, being its de facto winemaker. He also advised other winegrowers in the region.
In his honor
